COMMON CONSUMER PRODUCT LAWSUITS AND CLAIMS

Pressure Cooker Explosions and Burns. Our pressure cooker lawyers have filed numerous pressure cooker lawsuits around the United States. Electric pressure cooker explosions are more common as several companies continue to market these product. RECENT PRODUCT LIABILITY RECALLS OF CONSUMER PRODUCTS

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports recalls to the public for products which may be defective or dangerous. Consumers can also file complaints with the CPSC. If enough people file complaints, sometimes the CPSC will open up an investigation into the product and force a recall if the company does not choose to do so voluntarily.

Ravin Crossbows announced a Recall of White Arrow Nocks due to risk of injury after nearly two dozen incidents with serious injuries were reported – These products were sold at Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods stores and other stores nationwide from October 2016 through November 2017. At least 51 reports of finger injuries were reported while nocking or re-nocking the white nocks.

True Living Sling Loungers were recalled due to Amputation, Laceration, and Pinching Hazards. These were manufactured by Shanghai Worth Garden Products and sold at Dollar General Stores. About 155,000 were recalled. Look at the product receipt for UPC number 430001047344 to see if your product was part of the recall. If you had an amputation or laceration from a sling lounger, you may be entitled to significant compensation.

Dehumidifier Burn Injury Claims – Nearly 2 million dehumidifiers sold under the brands AeonAir, Amana, ArcticAire (Danby), Classic (Danby / Home Hardware Stores), Commercial Cool, Danby, Danby Designer, Danby Premiere, De’Longhi, Edgestar, Friedrich, Generations (Danby), Haier, Honeywell (JMATEK / AirTek), Idylis, Ivation, perfect aire, SuperClima, Whirlpool, and Whynter were recalled because of defects which could lead to fires causing burn, fire, smoke or other damage and even wrongful death. According to the recall, the manufacturer New Widetech is aware of at least 107 incidents of the recalled dehumidifiers overheating and/or catching fire, resulting in about $17 million in property damage.

Generac Portable Generator Amputation and Finger Crush Injuries – A nationwide recall was issued because an unlocked handle can pinch consumers’ fingers against the generator frame when the generator is moved, posing finger amputation and crushing hazards. The company received numerous complaints of amputations from the product.

SOWTECH Espresso Machines with Glass Carafe Breaking – Numerous reports were made by consumers who were injured by the glass carafe breaking resulting in five burn injuries. Over 20,000 units were recalled.

UPPAbaby adapters with Rumbleseats Child Fall Danger – Over 100 reports were made of children falling out of UPPAbaby adapters, leading to numerous child injuries. If your child was hurt, you may be entitled to compensation.

Joy/JM-branded My Little Steamer® and My Little Steamer® Go Mini Burn Injury Claims – Over 5,000,000 steamers were recalled following hundreds of complaints of steamer burns from hot water spraying or leaking from the steamers.

Folding Chair Collapse Injuries – Several wooden folding chairs sold at TJ Maxx and Marshalls were recalled for fall injuries. CPSC noted that the companies received at least 18 reports of the recalled chairs breaking or collapsing, including 15 reports of falls that resulted in back and neck injuries and lacerations.

Lithium Ion Battery Fires – There have been numerous recalls over the years of products exploding or catching fire leading to serious burn injuries. If you were hurt because of a battery fire, you could be entitled to money to compensate you for your injuries.
Greenworks and Powerworks Pressure Washer Gun Break Injury – According to the CPSC, the spray gun connector can break, causing the hose and/or parts of the connector to become dislodged during use, posing an impact injury hazard to the user. Crock-Pot® 6-Quart Express Crock Multi-Cookers – The recall notice says that the recalled Crock-Pot multi-cooker can pressurize when the lid is not fully locked which can cause the lid to suddenly detach while the product is in use. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT INJURY?
